Description

A French edge is the ideal tool for rounding the corners of your leather while reducing the thickness of the crust.
With a blade that is flatter than a traditional edge cutter, it can also be used to adorn your leather for setting rivets, buttons, etc.

Thus, it will bring comfort to items likely to be worn and therefore confronted with friction with your skin:
belts, shoulder strap straps, etc.

The chamfer here designates the flat blade located at the end of the tool. (see photo 2) This blade, present to remove material, needs to be sharp and therefore well maintained to extend its life.

1.
The blades are sharpened by hand at the OKA FACTORY factory to ensure you have a sharp tool. They are also oiled and covered with a vinyl cover to protect them.
2.
The hardened steel has an anti-rust coating.
3 and 4.
The size of the chamfer, number 1 (6 mm) is the easiest to use, because it offers less resistance than the others because of its width.
5..
Use sandpaper to give your blade a fresh start when it is no longer effective, supplied with the tool.
6.
A polishing stone is supplied with the tool to maintain the blade. To use it, you need to put a few drops of oil on the back of a scrap leather. You then rub the stone on the back, this will leave a green deposit. Finally, you rub the blade in the opposite direction to that of the cut. (view the photo)
